Human Nature Chapter 5: Spectrum Theory

I

In the previous chapter we explained a simple Practical (Practical means might not be 100% Truth but it is a Practical Truth meaning that it is a model that can give us accurate and consistent result for predictions) method of modeling human emotion through the Binary Model of Human Emotion. The Binary Model states that there are emotions and there are Positive and Negative versions of those Emotions. For example, temperature emotion of hot and cold, or pleasure emotion of happiness and sadness.

Spectrum Theory is a theory developed in the Antelist Book of Analysis and states that most characteristics can be viewed as a spectrum. For example size, we have big and small but there is a spectrum of sizes in between. The same with temperature, it isn’t a binary state of hot and cold, but there are temperatures in-between. Spectrum Theory is considered Truth in Antelism because of the amount of evidence there is for it.

Spectrum Theory applies to Human Nature in two ways, physical and mental. The physical aspect of Spectrum Theory exists in many physical characteristics. Height of people for example is a spectrum, you have people who are only 4 feet tall and also people who are over 7 feet tall. Skin color is also a spectrum with many different shades and colors. Hair is a spectrum with how hair can look like and its color. Feet size, immune system qualities, metabolism, and so on. Humans are a very diverse Object and Spectrum Theory allows us to analyze people in a nuanced way.

The mental side of Spectrum Theory also exists. First there is mental aptitude which varies from person to person. We have people with severe mental disability who cannot function at all and we have people with IQ levels above 200, and Spectrum Theory predicts we have people with varying levels of intelligence in-between which is exactly what we observe. There is also mental differences with how people perceive different foods, some people can handle spice and others can’t and there is a huge spectrum of people between the two extremes. Mental states also are viewed on a spectrum, there are people who are extremely happy and joyful and then there are people who are extremely depressed and suicidal and some people to the point where they kill themselves. There is also the spectrum of people in-between. There is a spectrum of peoples ability for art or mathematics or language, there is a spectrum of people with their anger management, a spectrum of people with their discipline, and the list goes on.

Spectrum Theory applies to the analysis of Human Nature because to understand Human Nature one must understand that human beings are on a Spectrum of diversity in characteristics, and because of that, it is self evident that a Complete model of Human Nature isn’t possible to achieve at our current level of science and technology. However, just because something isn’t Pure Truth doesn’t mean that it isn’t Truth, as described in the Book of Truth there are Levels of Truth. Just because we cannot create a perfect model of Human Nature does not mean we cannot create a model of Human Nature that achieves a High Level of Limited Truth.

In Conclusion, Antelism believes in a General Model of Human Nature that applies mostly to everyone, however due to Diversity Theory and Spectrum Theory Antelism knows that there will be exceptions to the General Model (The Standard Model), that is why Antelism points out exceptions in later chapters. However even with the exceptions, Antelism views the vast majority of the General Model of Human Nature to apply at least 90% to all people even if some of those people fall into wild extremes.
