Human Nature Chapter 3: Programming

I

The first order of emotions come from our inherent need for survival and reproduction, the second order of emotions come from protection and safety to help with survival. The next set of emotions mostly come from a concept known in Antelism as Programming.

Programming is the process in which humans receive information and process that information, often accepting that information as a form of Truth. Language for example is the most widespread and common form of Programming in human society. It is universal since all societies have a language and all people learn language by receiving auditory input of that language, as well as education explaining the definition of words after the person grasps the basics of that language.

Programming isn’t just about language, it is also about ideas. History, Government, Religion, Morality, all these things are learned through the process of Programming. Learning to drive a car is Programming, the combination of physical and visual stimulus and the processing of that stimulus results in the Programming of one’s ability to drive a car. Playing a video game and getting good at the video game is Programming. Learning music through listening is programming, and learning and believing an ideology is programming.

Programming is the method in which humans learn and remember new information. It is like writing new information to hard drive. People differ with their ability to receive and achieve Programming. Learning disabilities can make Programming more difficult. Stubbornness can make Programming difficult if it involves changing a current person’s opinion. And Emotion can reject or accept information.

Emotion is the primary driver of human action, and Thought is an Emotion, and Thought is also an Action. However not all Emotions are Thoughts, and those Thoughts and Beliefs can be affected by one’s emotion.

Someone who believes in something can receive stimulation of a different opinion. Their current Programming creates emotion that will reject the new information of the different opinion, even if it is solid evidence. That emotion results in the cancellation and prevention of any Programming taking place, and instead you have simple rejection. If a person is more open minded then the evidence can result in new Programming, as the person listens and re-evaluates their prior opinion. In that scenario the Programming can then take place.

Another scenario is when someone is listening to information that agrees with their currently present Programming. What happens in that scenario is a reinforcement of the currently existing Programming. Think of someone in politics, already with an opinion formed, listening to only political commentators that agree with their current opinion. This creates a reinforcement and propagation of the currently existing Programming.

Combine a Stubborn Mind, Ego Disorder, and Addiction to validation, and one can become in a pseudo permanent state of Programming where changing an opinion is impossible. In these situations one should avoid genuine discussion and debate since by the very nature of that person’s mental condition they are unable to have a discussion to move towards Truth.

In Summary, There are primary emotions that exist for our own survival, and then there are Thoughts, Opinions, Beliefs, and Language that are learned through the process of Programming.
