Truth Chapter 3: Abstract Objects

I

Objects are a relatively simple concept to understand when talking about physical Objects. However things start to get more complicated when analyzing more complicated and abstract Objects.

The first abstract object to talk about is the object of Thought. Thought is an Object despite not being able to see or observe them easily. How do we know thoughts exist? Simply because of the overwhelming evidence of Thought that make it Irrefutable (Definitions: Something that cannot be denied or believed against). An individual Thought is an object and there are millions of them happening every minute of the day.

A Thought is simply the Object of ideas in one’s mind. Ideas are also Objects. If one were to think in their head “I am going to the market today” that phrase inside that person’s head is a Thought and that Thought is an object.

The same analysis given to any other object can be given to Thoughts. Thoughts are made up of smaller thoughts of words. Those words have definitions that are assigned by the individual person, those definitions are also Thoughts and they describe the Object of words. Words have sounds that make up each word but also letters. The sounds and letters are Objects. The sounds of the letters are also thoughts. So we have letters (thoughts) making up words (thoughts) which make up sentences (thoughts) that can extend into multiple sentences (thoughts) and it is essentially objects combining to create a larger object, combining to create an even larger object, and the method continues.

The continuation of this can be letters and essays and ideology. A physical piece of paper is an object, and a physical piece of paper with writing on it is also an object. But that object has no meaning without the symbols (letters) and combination of those symbols (words) having an individual with Thought that prescribes sound and meaning to those letters and words.

A physical letter (paper with words, not individual character) in a pure sense is an object without descriptive meaning. That object becomes more complicated once you add respect of human meaning to it. Thus we created two entities, the physical piece of paper that exists regardless of life, and then the combination of words that exist because of human life and thought. Both are their own unique objects.

This becomes more apparent when we look at the digital age. A web article is an object, but it doesn’t physically exist in the same way like paper and pen ink. The article itself, the words and meaning, that is the object. The individual lines of code and programming is also its own unique object (which will be talked about later) and the light coming off your monitor to see the article is also an object.

What happens to the article if every server disappears? It is still an object however since it no longer exists in any form it is just an object in the present time and an Object in the past time. This type of analysis gets very nuanced and it is hard to have a perfect objective form of analyzing it, but the main point is that Thoughts are ideas.

In the other direction, we have Thoughts forming bigger thoughts and collection of thoughts all forming something greater. A book for example is a collection of pages, paragraphs, sentences, and letters all being their own object. However a collection of books can also be its own object. The Harry Potter Series of books is an Object that is made up of multiple Objects (books) that are made up of the smaller components just mentioned earlier.

The more advanced form of thought is ideology and governance. Individual Ideologies, Religions, Philosophies are their own individual objects. They are made up of other objects being many different thoughts added and combined together to create the larger object of an ideology or religion.
